# NMDC Q1 profit up 2%, production surges 26%

NMDC, India's largest iron ore producer and a Navratna PSU, posted a 2 per cent rise in standalone net profit to Rs 2,007 crore for the first quarter ended June 30, 2026, on a 2 per cent increase in revenue to Rs 6,795 crore. Iron ore production jumped 26 per cent to 15.12 million tonnes year-on-year, while sales inched up 2 per cent to 11.73 million tonnes. Chairman and managing director Amitava Mukherjee said the company is on track to produce 60 million tonnes in FY27 and scale up to 100 million tonnes by 2030.
