Norges Bank Investment Management reported a record $185 billion in investment returns for the first half of the year, taking the fund's value to $2.3 trillion. The second quarter alone delivered an 11.5% return, the best since 2020. Equity investments led with a 16% return, while fixed income managed 1.1%. Chief executive Nicolai Tangen told Bloomberg TV the rally has made the fund nervous. "We are seeing a lot of reasons to be really cautious," he said, citing AI valuations and geopolitics. The fund's top ten holdings now account for nearly a quarter of its value, a concentration Tangen said he has never seen before. Nvidia, Apple, and Alphabet are its three biggest bets.
