# NTPC power generation up 15% in July, 9.5% YTD

The Hindu reports that NTPC's power generation rose 15% in July compared with the prior month, outpacing the national average of 11% month-on-month growth. On a year-to-date basis, generation surged 9.5% to 158.02 billion units from the same period last year. Power trading also grew 24% to 20.64 billion units during the period. The state-owned company currently operates over 90 gigawatts of installed capacity, with more than 35 gigawatts under construction.
