NTPC to set up Rs 111 crore Tertiary Sewage Treatment Plant in Chhattisgarh’s Korba city

NTPC Korba

has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with

Korba Municipal Corporation

to establish a Tertiary Sewage Water Treatment Plant in Korba, in a significant step towards sustainable water management and

environmental conservation

NTPC has committed Rs 111 crore towards setting up this advanced treatment facility. The plant will enable the reuse of treated sewage water for industrial purposes at the NTPC Korba plant. This initiative marks a pioneering move, making Korba the first city in Chhattisgarh to implement large-scale reuse of sewage water.
Prior to this project, NTPC Korba had already contributed over Rs 14 crore for the establishment of a Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) in the city. This demonstrates its commitment to community development and environmental sustainability.
