# Nurse’s body found in locked toilet at Kolkata’s NRS Hospital

A 30-year-old nurse was found dead in a locked toilet at the state-run NRS Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata early on Thursday. She was on night duty at the high-dependency unit of the gynaecology department. When she did not return from the washroom around 10.30 pm, colleagues broke open the door and found her unconscious. Doctors declared her dead on arrival. Police found empty vials of anaesthetic injection and a syringe at the scene. No suicide note was recovered, and the body had no visible injury marks. Her mobile phone has been seized for call records. West Bengal health minister Sharadwat Mukherjee and senior police officers visited the hospital. A post-mortem has been ordered to determine the cause of death.
