# Odisha to give Durga Puja committees up to Rs 1.10 lakh

The Odisha government will provide financial assistance to 1,085 Durga Puja committees, Culture Minister Suryabanshi Suraj said on October 4. The support will promote cultural heritage and traditional festivities, he said. The 215 heritage pujas will receive Rs 1.10 lakh each. Committees running pujas for 75 years will get Rs 75,000 each, while those with a 50-year history will receive Rs 50,000. There are 197 committees in the second category and 673 in the third, according to the minister. The government’s total expenditure was stated as Rs 7.14.
