# Woman gang-raped in Cuttack, police form special team

A woman was allegedly gang-raped by a group of four to six men in Odisha's Cuttack district late Tuesday night. She was travelling with a male friend towards Kendrapara from Bhubaneswar when their car was stopped near Sukarpada village on the Cuttack-Chandbali road, police said. The men assaulted the friend and raped the woman before fleeing. A case has been registered at Nischintakoili police station. Cuttack Rural SP Vinit Agarwal said a deputy superintendent of police and a woman officer are leading the investigation, with multiple teams formed to nab the accused. The survivor is receiving medical care and counselling, police added.
