# Odisha youth critically injured after refusing lift

A youth was critically injured after an unidentified person slashed his neck with a knife for refusing a lift at Khandara Chhak in Ganjam district late Friday night. The victim, Uddhab Padhi, was travelling when a stranger stopped him and asked for a ride. After Padhi refused, the assailant pulled his motorcycle from behind and slashed his throat. Bleeding heavily, Padhi ran home and was rushed to hospital, then shifted to MKCG Medical College in Berhampur as his condition turned critical. Police have launched an investigation.
