Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Thursday condemned the attack on Shiromani Akali Dal leader Sukhbir Singh Badal as “heinous and unacceptable in a democracy”. He expressed shock that after Sukhbir survived an earlier assassination attempt in Amritsar, nothing seemed to have been done to improve his protection. The attack took place on August 13. The Hindu reported the statement.
