OpenAI will make GPT-5.6 Luna the default model for ChatGPT users later this week, replacing GPT-5.5 Instant, Times Now reports. The company says Luna is faster and 62 per cent less likely to produce at least one factual error in internal tests. Free and Go users will get unlimited everyday text chats, though Business Today says limits will still apply to file uploads, images and other tools. Free users will also receive a Think button for harder questions, according to Business Today. OpenAI has upgraded GPT-5.6 Sol for Plus and Pro subscribers. A new reasoning slider will let them choose how much computing the model uses, from faster responses to deeper analysis. The rollout comes as lower-cost Chinese open-weight models put pressure on leading AI firms to justify paid plans.
