The work is being coordinated from the Civil Station in Kalpetta and a temporary control room in Chooralmala. Deployed in 15 teams, officials are coordinating search and rescue, relief materials, food, medicines, counselling, camps, medical care, waste disposal and data management. Separate teams are identifying recovered bodies, handing them to families, cremating unclaimed bodies and completing autopsy paperwork.
