The Hyderabad MP’s convoy was allegedly attacked near the Chhijarsi toll plaza on the Delhi-Meerut highway on February 3, 2022, while he was returning from a campaign for the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections. Owaisi escaped unhurt. Police have filed a nearly 1,900-page charge sheet against three accused, Sachin, Shubham, and Alim, under sections including attempt to murder and criminal conspiracy. The three are currently out on bail. The charge sheet names 60 witnesses, including 12 police personnel.
