AIMIM MP Asaduddin Owaisi on Monday (May 26, 2025) mocked Pakistan’s leadership after the country’s newly promoted Field Marshal Asim Munir reportedly gifted a ‘fake’ photograph to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif at a dinner event in Rawalpindi a few days ago.
According to Inter-Services Public Relations — the media wing of the Pakistan Armed Forces — Field Marshal Asim Munir hosted the country’s top political leaders for a dinner to pay tributes to those involved in ‘Operation Bunyanum Marsoos’, which was reportedly Pakistan’s response to India’s Operation Sindoor.
At this event, Mr. Munir handed Prime Minister Sharif a photograph with a caption Operation Bunyanum Marsoos. However, a reverse image search showed it was actually of a Chinese rocket launch, taken several years ago.

During an interaction with the Indian diaspora in Kuwait, Mr. Owaisi stated, “Yesterday, the Pakistani Army chief gifted a photo to the Pakistani PM Shehbaz Sharif… these stupid jokers want to compete with India, they had given a photograph of a 2019 Chinese Army drill claiming it is a victory over India.”
The MP further remarked on Pakistan’s credibility, saying, “This is what Pakistan indulges in… ‘Nakal karne ke liye akal chahiye’… inke pass akal bhi nahi hai’… whatever Pakistan is saying, do not take even with a pinch of salt.”

Mr. Owaisi’s comments came as part of a broader multi-party Indian parliamentary delegation visit to Kuwait. The delegation’s primary objective is to brief international partners on India’s response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack and communicate the country’s broader strategy in combating cross-border terrorism. The multi-party group is conducting engagements across several West Asian and North African nations, including Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain and Algeria.
