# Ownership & Funding

Who pays for a news site shapes what it publishes, so this page states plainly who owns Indian Opinion, where the money comes from, and what neither of those things can buy.

## Who owns it

Indian Opinion is a content publication and distribution brand owned by Great Indian Company, Royal Avenue, Gowri Krishna, Shettahalli, Jalahalli West, Bengaluru, Karnataka 560015, India. Phone +91-7559041299. Email [hello@greatindiancompany.com](mailto:hello@greatindiancompany.com). Website [www.greatindiancompany.com](https://www.greatindiancompany.com). GST 29AAWFG7015K1ZQ.

Beyond that ownership, Indian Opinion is not owned by, funded by, or affiliated with any news organisation, political party, government body, or other commercial media group, and there is no outside investment beyond Great Indian Company to disclose.

## Editorial independence

Great Indian Company owns the Indian Opinion brand but does not direct its editorial output. What gets covered, how a story clears the corroboration bar, and when something is corrected are governed by the Editorial Policy and applied by the editor, Ramakrishnan Lokanathan (also the founder of Great Indian Company), independently of the parent company's other interests.

## How it is funded

Running costs are hosting, domain registration, and the cost of the AI models that produce the briefs and the analysis. Those costs are met by Great Indian Company, the brand's owner.

We do not currently run advertising, sponsored content, affiliate links or paid placement. If that changes, this page will be updated before any paid content appears, and the paid content will be labelled as such where it appears.

## What money cannot buy

No outlet, company, party or individual can pay to appear on this site, to be covered in a particular way, or to be left out of a story. There is no rate card because there is nothing to sell.

Story selection is automated and driven by what Indian outlets actually publish, then filtered by the rules in the [Editorial Policy](/editorial-policy/): at least two distinct outlets must have reported a story before it publishes, unless it is service journalism, and it must clear a relevance threshold. Daily output is capped well below what the system could produce. That cap is an editorial decision about quality, not a commercial one, and nobody can pay to be published above it.

## Our relationship to the outlets we summarise

We have no commercial relationship with the outlets whose reporting we draw on. We use their publicly available feeds, credit them by name, and link back to their original articles. They do not pay us and we do not pay them. No outlet has any say over whether or how its reporting appears here, and none of them has approved this site.

If you are an outlet and something here misrepresents your reporting, that is a correction and we want to hear about it. See the [Corrections Policy](/corrections-policy/).

## Questions
