A parliamentary panel is expected to recommend a statutory route for foreign-incorporated companies to shift their domicile to India without losing their legal identity, The Economic Times reports. Its report on the Corporate Laws (Amendment) Bill is due in the Lok Sabha on Monday. The proposed framework would let eligible companies move to India’s International Financial Services Centre without winding up their existing entity. The panel has also proposed changes covering taxation, contracts, legal proceedings and regulatory licences, along with corporate law reforms linked to data protection, pooled investment vehicles, audits and National Company Law Tribunal cases. Startups such as PhonePe and Flipkart have already completed reverse flips through existing routes. The bill was introduced on March 23 and referred to the panel on May 19.
