The Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR) has already concluded that dumping has occurred and recommended remedial duties after a probe covering April 2024 to March 2025. Imports from Indonesia jumped from a negligible 296 tonnes in FY22 to 62,935 tonnes in FY25, while CIF prices fell 25 per cent. The domestic industry suffered estimated losses of Rs 242 crore in FY25. IPMA warned that urgency is high because the Minimum Import Price, an interim measure, ends on September 30.
