In its report tabled on Monday, the committee noted that against a target of 17,000 in 2023-24, only 9,333 were trained. This fell sharply to 836 against a target of 15,000 in 2024-25. As of January 2025-26, only 2,264 were trained against a target of 10,000. The committee, chaired by BJP MP PC, acknowledged administrative challenges from the transition to the PM DAKSH-DEPwD portal and the Hybrid Treasury Single Account model. It recommended that the new Divyangjan Kaushal Yojana adopt an industry-linked approach and that targets for 2026-27 be monitored quarterly.
