# Pawan Kalyan greets tribal communities on Indigenous Peoples Day

Andhra Pradesh Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan greeted tribal communities on the International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples, saying forests have protected them for generations while they have guarded forests as “guardians of nature, culture and ancient wisdom”. In a social media post, he said this year’s UN theme, “Honouring Indigenous Midwives: Safeguarding Life and Well-being”, highlights traditional knowledge passed down through generations. Kalyan said he shares a deep personal bond with tribal communities and that their trust strengthens his resolve to work for their welfare. He listed government measures such as the Adavi Thalli Baata programme, better connectivity to remote habitations, livelihood opportunities and stronger forest and wildlife protection. The government aims to reach every tribal family while protecting identity and traditions, he added.
