The Pakistan Cricket Board has declined permission for its over-50s team to play the International Masters Cricket World Cup in India in January 2027. The Pakistan Veterans Cricket Association (PVCA) said it has withdrawn and asked organisers to find a replacement. PVCA chief Fawad Ijaz said the host nation and organisers had assured visas and high-level security. After seeking clearance from the PCB and the ministries of foreign affairs and interior, Ijaz said interior minister Mohsin Naqvi, who also chairs the PCB, told them they cannot play in India. Pakistan won the previous edition in Sri Lanka in 2025. The Pakistan Hockey Federation recently refused to travel to India for the Asian Champions Trophy.

## Indian Opinion Analysis

All five reports carry identical facts from the PTI wire, attributing the decision to interior minister and PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi. No source questions or defends the decision, the coverage is uniform straight reporting. The shared context, that Pakistan and India now play each other only at neutral venues in multi-nation events, is the same across every outlet. The story ends on the withdrawal itself, with no next step from any named body.
