Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian reportedly left a brief, secret meeting with Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei unsure whether he had actually spoken to him. Times Now, citing Iran International, said the conversation took place inside a tinted-window vehicle at an undisclosed Tehran location, where poor lighting prevented the men from seeing each other clearly. Khamenei’s guards reportedly prevented a handshake and asked Pezeshkian to leave after a few minutes. The account contrasts with Pezeshkian’s public description in May of a two-and-a-half-hour, cordial meeting. The report also said Pezeshkian had sought access for some time and later requested another meeting at Khamenei’s residence, but was turned down. Khamenei has not appeared publicly for about five months, according to the report.
