# Pimpri-Chinchwad delivery boy attacked with stone, video viral 2026-08-24T14:01:08+00:00 | India | Indian Opinion Desk Corroboration: 1 independent outlet A video showing a group of delivery boys allegedly assaulting a colleague near Shivar Garden Chowk in Pimpri-Chinchwad has gone viral. The footage shows several men kicking and punching the victim, and one of them picking up a stone and hitting or attempting to hit him on the head. The clash reportedly occurred on Thursday night under Sangvi Police Station limits. The reason for the dispute is not yet clear. No formal complaint had been filed as of the time of reporting, and it is unknown if the police have taken suo motu cognisance of the video. ## Indian Opinion Analysis This is not the first reported assault involving gig workers in the Pune region, where intense competition for quick deliveries and disputes over territory or orders can escalate. The victim may be a fellow delivery boy from a rival platform or a newcomer on the same network. The Pimpri-Chinchwad police have a history of taking action once a video goes viral, but the lack of a formal complaint means the case depends on whether they register an FIR on their own. Watch for a statement from Sangvi Police Station and the victim's condition, as those will determine if charges are filed and how platforms like Zomato or Swiggy respond. ## Coverage - freepressjournal.in Reports the incident factually, attributes all claims to the video and police jurisdiction, no editorialising.
