# PM Modi hosts CWG 2026 medallists, praises Lovlina’s map stand

Prime Minister Narendra Modi hosted India's Commonwealth Games 2026 medallists at his residence on Sunday, praising boxer Lovlina Borgohain for objecting to a distorted Indian map at a Glasgow restaurant. Lovlina said she politely asked for the correction and it was made. Modi called the video of her stand 'not ordinary' and said it would be remembered. Weightlifter Mirabai Chanu, who won gold with a Games record lift of 190kg, broke down recounting the four years since missing a Paris Olympic medal by 1kg. She cited injuries and family problems. Boxer Narender Berwal made Modi laugh with a story about a Pakistani rival who tired of the name 'Narender'. India finished fourth with 39 medals, including 13 golds.
