# PM Modi at IIT Delhi: ‘Every generation has its challenges’

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday attended the 57th convocation of IIT Delhi, where he told graduates that their decisions over the next 30-35 years will shape India’s journey towards a 'Viksit Bharat'. He urged students to keep learning in a rapidly changing world, saying 'the one who learns will win'. Modi also noted that only a few female students received medals and said there should have been 'many more' women among the winners, drawing loud applause. The PM awarded top honours including the President’s Gold Medal to meritorious students and virtually inaugurated Param Pragya, an AI-powered supercomputing facility at the Sonipat campus. Over 3,000 students, including 587 PhD scholars, received degrees. Union minister Pralhad Joshi said women now account for nearly 44 per cent of STEM enrolment in India. Modi also announced that Rs 1 lakh crore is being arranged for the research sector under a new scheme.
