# PM Modi warns Gen Z against shortcuts, urges reading autobiographies

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday urged young people to read autobiographies and avoid social-media reels, saying “shortcut will cut you short”. He spoke at the launch of former president Ram Nath Kovind’s autobiography “Triumph of the Indian Republic: My Life, My Struggles”. Modi said Kovind’s life showed how determination could overcome adversity and rise to the highest constitutional office. The prime minister also praised Kovind’s continued work on the ‘One Nation, One Election’ initiative. Modi appealed to youth to learn from the struggles of others. He recalled that Kovind lost his mother in a childhood fire but grew stronger. Kovind himself spoke of his village roots and said government housing schemes gave poor families a roof. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and Chief Justice Surya Kant attended.
