The housing and urban affairs ministry says 1.25 crore houses have been sanctioned under PMAY-Urban and PMAY-U 2.0 since 2015, with over 1 crore completed and delivered. Of these, 1 crore houses were allotted to women, either as sole owners or jointly. The 8th CSMC meeting on August 6 approved 2.09 lakh additional houses for EWS families across 16 states and UTs. Under the BLC vertical, 1.42 lakh houses get up to Rs 2.5 lakh financial aid, while 67,045 houses fall under the AHP vertical. Total sanctions under PMAY-U 2.0 now exceed 18.38 lakh.
