# Polish swimmer completes first 160-km Baltic Sea crossing

Polish ultra-swimmer Bartlomiej Kubkowski has completed a 160-kilometre swim from Kåseberga in Sweden to Dziwnów in Poland in 55 hours and 10 minutes. He is reported to be the first person to finish the route without leaving the water, touching a support boat or taking a sleep break. A boat followed him for safety, while food and drinks were passed to him. The swim came on his fifth attempt, after four failures, including one in 2025 that ended about 11 kilometres from the finish. Kubkowski’s campaign raised around 700,000 Polish złoty, nearly $190,000, for children receiving cancer treatment through the Cancer Fighters Foundation.
