# Prabhas-Karunakaran film reports untrue, Karthik project mooted 2026-10-31T18:21:20+00:00 | Entertainment | Indian Opinion Desk Corroboration: 2 independent outlets Rumors that Prabhas would reunite with director Karunakaran for a romantic drama have been dismissed as false. 123telugu.com reports that no such project with People Media Factory is happening. Instead, m9.news says director Karthik Gattamneni of ‘Mirai’ fame is preparing a thriller for Prabhas, which People Media Factory may produce. Prabhas is currently occupied with commitments including ‘Spirit’, ‘Kalki 2’ and ‘Fauzi’, and is yet to sign another film. Fans have expressed mixed reactions: some are relieved the Karunakaran reunion was a false rumour, while others worry that Karthik Gattamneni may not be a safe bet for a pan-India star, given past setbacks. Both outlets report that Prabhas has not confirmed any new project beyond the three already announced. ## Indian Opinion Analysis 123telugu.com reports the Karunakaran rumour as flatly false and moves on, with no further speculation. M9.news uses the denial as a peg to raise concerns about Karthik Gattamneni’s credentials and to frame Prabhas’ schedule as a risk of no release in 2028. The sensationalist framing is evident in the headline’s question marks and the paragraph about fan doubts over past director choices, none of which appear in 123telugu’s neutral account. The balanced reading is that no official announcement has been made, the Karunakaran project is denied, and the Karthik project remains unconfirmed. The concrete next step is an official announcement from the actor or the production house, which neither outlet reports as pending. ## Coverage Coverage: 2 sources, 1 neutral, 1 sensationalist - 123telugu.com (neutral report) Straight denial of rumour, no evaluation of alternatives - m9.news (sensationalist) Leads with question headline, flags fan worry over director choices This brief was synthesised by AI from the 2 sources linked above, so one read covers every framing they carry.
