Prithviraj Sukumaran’s Malayalam action thriller Khalifa began streaming on 9 October 2026 after its theatrical release on 20 August. Directed by Vysakh, the film follows Aamir Ali, a textile shop owner who becomes involved in gold smuggling and puts his family at risk. The film is available through Prime Video, Lionsgate Play, Aha, ManoramaMAX, Simply South and Starzplay, with regional availability varying by service. It can be watched in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi. CNBC-TV18 reports theatrical collections of around Rs 45.05 crore worldwide, while 123telugu describes the run as a commercial disappointment. Khalifa is the first instalment of a planned two-part series.

## Indian Opinion Analysis

Filmibeat and CNBC-TV18 use a service-led frame, focusing on the streaming launch, languages and platforms. 123telugu instead leads with the film’s poor theatrical performance and presents the digital release as an attempt to widen its reach. CNBC-TV18 adds a reported worldwide collection of around Rs 45.05 crore, a figure absent from the other two accounts. Together, the reports establish the release details but leave home-audience performance open, with viewing response now the next measurable point.
