Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said young protesters do not need RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat’s “certificate” after he backed Gen Z demonstrations as legitimate democratic expression. She also demanded that Union Home Minister Amit Shah address Parliament over alleged police excesses during the July 20 student protest over paper leaks. At a Mumbai event attended by around 2,000 young people, Bhagwat said Gen Z grievances were genuine and protesters should not be branded anti-national. He called for dialogue and said education spending should rise to 6% of GDP. Students quoted by Hindustan Times welcomed the outreach but sought clearer answers on examination leaks, unemployment and reservation. Omar Abdullah supported Bhagwat’s distinction between opposing a government and opposing the country.
