More than 100 supporters of jailed former Pakistan prime minister Imran Khan were arrested during protests across the country, Hindustan Times reports. Police used batons in parts of Punjab, while journalists were allegedly assaulted in Lahore, according to the report. The action came as Khan completed three years in prison. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Suhail Afridi said PTI supporters would march towards Islamabad on September 27 if demands over Khan’s cases and prison access were not met. The party wants cases against Khan and his wife heard on merit, and meetings restored with lawyers, doctors, relatives and party leaders. Afridi alleged mistreatment and solitary confinement. The Hindu and Hindustan Times report no government response to these claims.
