It urges publishers to demand transparent disclosure of AI use in editing and production, even as courts and regulators deliberate. "Publishers who maintain clear records, adopt carefully drafted AI-specific provisions, and require transparent disclosure of AI use will be better placed to manage legal and commercial risk while the framework develops," the report states. It notes that generative AI offers efficiency and new revenue but raises questions about authorship and creators' rights.
