The plant will process 300 tonnes of cattle dung daily from a nearby dairy complex, aiming to prevent waste from entering the polluted Budha Nallah and reduce sewer blockages. It is expected to be operational by September 2027. The project will directly benefit 435 dairy owners under the 'Waste-to-Wealth' mission, producing around five tonnes of compressed biogas and organic bio-fertiliser every day. Mann said similar plants will be set up across Punjab to promote green energy and tackle pollution.
