# Punjab CM hands over 866 govt jobs, cites falling migration

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann distributed appointment letters to 866 new government recruits in Mohali on Saturday. Of these, 636 appointments were made in the Health and Family Welfare Department, including 614 staff nurses. Mann said transparent, merit-based recruitment had replaced the earlier system of bribery and recommendations. Mann claimed the state has so far provided 69,094 government jobs with complete transparency. He linked this to a decline in youth migration abroad and highlighted education reforms: 882 government school students cleared NEET this year, up from 80 in 2021. Punjab, he said, has overtaken Kerala in school education rankings.
