# Punjab Police’s 200-day crackdown targets 58,000 criminals

Punjab Police’s anti-gangster campaign ‘Gangstran Te Vaar’ has completed 200 days. In that period, police conducted 1,09,087 raids, arrested 1,532 proclaimed offenders and initiated action against 58,212 criminals and their associates. The force recovered 990 illegal firearms, 774 kg of heroin, and seized property including Rs 1.73 crore in drug money. The campaign also targeted overseas gangsters. Police brought back Bhuvnesh Chopra from Central Asia and Jobanjit Singh from Indonesia. DGP Gaurav Yadav said the operation aims to dismantle the entire criminal ecosystem, not just make arrests. AGTF chief Pramod Ban said the force is combining field work with financial tracking and digital intelligence.
