# Radhika Sarathkumar says Suriya overcame deep mental battles 2026-08-19T18:03:48+00:00 | Entertainment | Indian Opinion Desk Corroboration: 2 independent outlets Radhika Sarathkumar said at the success meet of the film Vishwanath & Sons that she saw her co-star Suriya go through deep mental struggles and overcome them. The actor, who plays Suriya's mother in the film, spoke at a ceremony Suriya did not attend. She said she felt connected to him as a family member because she witnessed his pain and recovery firsthand. Radhika described Suriya as a private person who rarely opens up. She said she was among the few close ones who talked to him often and gave him advice. The film, directed by Venky Atluri, earned over Rs 128 crore globally in its first week. It also stars Mamitha Baiju, Raveena Tandon and Nasser. The film marks Suriya's second consecutive hit after Karuppu earlier this year. ## Indian Opinion Analysis Both Indiatoday.in and Hindustan Times ran the story as straight event coverage with no political or ideological slant. They reported Radhika's quotes verbatim and gave the same box-office figures. The only notable difference is that Hindustan Times added context about Suriya's earlier film Karuppu, while Indiatoday.in did not. The coverage is uniform and factual. A careful reader can take Radhika's remarks as a personal tribute, not an official statement about Suriya's health. No further developments are expected unless Suriya or his team comment. ## Coverage Coverage: 2 sources, 2 neutral - indiatoday.in (neutral report) Straight reporting of Radhika's quotes and box-office figures, no editorial framing - hindustantimes.com (neutral report) This story was synthesised by AI from the 2 sources linked above.
