Rain returned to Delhi-NCR on Monday after a brief monsoon break, with the India Meteorological Department issuing a yellow alert for thunderstorm and lightning across most of the capital and its suburbs on August 10. The IMD has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall in some areas. Commuters faced severe waterlogging in Chhatarpur Farm, Sangam Vihar, and Kapashera border, with 81 complaints logged. Major roads including Mehrauli-Badarpur Road, the Delhi-Jaipur Highway, and the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway saw long traffic jams. By August 8, Delhi had already recorded 229.5mm of rain this month, nearly 98% of its normal August rainfall of 233.1mm, Hindustan Times reports.
