# Jailer 2 first single on August 21, release set for October 15 2026-08-18T14:53:51+00:00 | Entertainment | Indian Opinion Desk Corroboration: 5 independent outlets The first single from Rajinikanth's 'Jailer 2' will be released on August 21, 2026, as announced by the makers Sun Pictures. Composed by Anirudh Ravichander, the song is expected to be an energetic dance number, potentially featuring Nora Fatehi. A new poster of Rajinikanth as 'Tiger' Muthuvel Pandian was also released alongside the announcement. The film, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, is currently in post-production and is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on October 15, targeting the Dussehra weekend. The audio launch is tentatively set for the first week of October. The ensemble cast includes SJ Suryah, Mohanlal, Shivarajkumar, Ramya Krishnan, and others, with reports of cameos by Hrithik Roshan and Vijay Sethupathi. However, m9.news reports speculation that due to post-production delays, the film might be postponed to Diwali (November 5-6), though there is no official confirmation. Trade experts cited by m9.news caution that a Diwali release would clash with the pan-Indian film 'Ramayana', potentially affecting screen count and North Indian collections. The makers have not commented on the postponement rumours. ## Indian Opinion Analysis The five sources present a near-uniform promotional narrative for 'Jailer 2', focusing on the August 21 single release and the October 15 date. Only m9.news diverges by reporting a potential postponement to Diwali due to post-production delays and a clash with 'Ramayana', framing this as a threat to the film's 1000-crore box office dream. The other outlets, 123telugu, onlykollywood, Pinkvilla, and Times of India, omit any delay speculation, instead emphasising the 'feast' and 'treat' for fans. This split suggests either a coordinated promotional beat or a factual disagreement: m9.news may be reporting insider chatter that the bigger outlets are ignoring, or it may be inflating rumour into news. The careful reader should note that no official source backs the postponement story, but the trade logic about a Diwali clash with 'Ramayana' is a concrete risk that the makers have not addressed. Watch for whether Sun Pictures confirms or denies the November date before the August 21 single launch. ## Coverage Coverage: 5 sources, 3 neutral, 2 sensationalist - 123telugu.com (sensationalist) Leads with 'Big update revealed, get ready for a treat' and focuses on hype for a 'Hukum-range track', omitting any release concerns. - m9.news (sensationalist) Leads with '1000 Crore Dream in Danger' and frames speculation about postponement as a threat to box office, using trade expert opinion without official confirmation. - onlykollywood.com (neutral report) Straightforward announcement of single release date and film details, with no drama or speculation about delays. - pinkvilla.com (neutral report) Minimal text: states single release date and film details, no additional framing or commentary. - timesofindia.indiatimes.com (neutral report) Reports single date and poster, adds background on Rajinikanth's upcoming projects, no delay speculation.
