The film was originally scheduled for August 7 but was postponed due to a crowded calendar. However, the new date could create a box office clash with another Rajkummar Rao film, Aditya Nimbalkar's Raftaar, which is also set for October 16. Prahaar, directed by Avinash Arun, focuses on Nikam's role in the trial of Ajmal Kasab, the lone surviving 26/11 Mumbai terror attacker. The teaser shows Rao gaining 9-10 kilograms for the role.
