# Netflix series on IAF Kargil role premieres in Delhi with defence minister praise

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on August 6 praised the Netflix series 'Operation Safed Sagar' for authentically depicting the Indian Air Force's role in the 1999 Kargil War. His video message at the Delhi premiere highlighted that no other air force had conducted combat at 15,000-18,000 feet before India. Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth attended the event at Bharat Mandapam. Netflix Co-CEO Ted Sarandos said the production contributed over Rs 215 crore to the Indian economy. The show stars Siddharth, Jimmy Shergill, and Dia Mirza. It started streaming globally on August 7.
