Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has praised Netflix’s eight-part series Operation Safed Sagar for portraying Indian soldiers with respect and authenticity. The series premieres on Netflix on Friday, with ABP Live identifying the date as August 7. Inspired by the Indian Air Force’s role in the 1999 Kargil War, it follows the Golden Arrows Squadron and its young fighter pilots during high-altitude combat missions. At the premiere in New Delhi, Air Chief Marshal A P Singh said the show was close to reality, while acknowledging some creative liberties. The series is directed by Oni Sen and stars Siddharth, Jimmy Shergill, Dia Mirza and Abhay Verma. It aims to take the IAF’s Kargil legacy to younger and global audiences.
