# Ram Charan returns to Hyderabad after Chiranjeevi’s 71st birthday 2026-08-24T04:11:54+00:00 | Entertainment | Indian Opinion Desk Corroboration: 1 independent outlet Ram Charan was seen arriving in Hyderabad this week after attending his father Chiranjeevi's 71st birthday celebrations. The Telugu superstar wore an olive-green shirt with jeans and had his long hair tied in a ponytail. A bandage on his right hand was visible, as he continues recovery from wrist surgery he underwent in late July 2026 at Coimbatore's Ganga Hospital. The injury occurred while filming action sequences for his upcoming movie 'Peddi'. Chiranjeevi's birthday on August 22 drew wishes from stars including Malayalam actor Mammootty, Mahesh Babu and Allu Arjun. The day also brought a major film announcement: Chiranjeevi's next project 'Kaaka', previously known as #Mega158, will be directed by Bobby Kolli. The film is scheduled for release on January 13, 2027, timed for the Sankranthi festival season. ## Indian Opinion Analysis Chiranjeevi's 71st birthday fell as his son Ram Charan recovers from wrist surgery that forced a filming delay for 'Peddi', a high-budget pan-India project. The father-son duo are among Telugu cinema's most bankable names, with Chiranjeevi commanding opening-day collections upwards of Rs 30 crore. The announcement of 'Kaaka' on his birthday is a strategic release plan: Sankranthi 2027 puts it in direct competition with two other big Telugu films scheduled for the same festive window. Mammootty's public wish signals the cross-industry goodwill that still surrounds the megastar. A key indicator to watch is whether Charan's recovery timeline allows him to resume 'Peddi' shoots before the end of 2026. ## Coverage - timesofindia.indiatimes.com Neutral reporting of celebrity events and film announcements, no political or ideological angle present This story was synthesised by AI from the source linked above.
