Ranbir Kapoor is expected to begin shooting for Brahmastra 2 in April 2027 after completing Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana Part 2, multiple sources report. The sequel, directed by Ayan Mukerji, will reunite Kapoor with Alia Bhatt as Isha. Pinkvilla exclusively reports that Kapoor will play a dual role of Dev and Shiva in the film, while Deepika Padukone is in talks with Mukerji for a key role. Telugu360 reports that Dhoom 4 is on hold, clearing Kapoor's schedule for the Astraverse sequel. Casting details have not been officially announced. The film is expected to expand the mythology and explore characters connected to Shiva's parents and the larger conflict involving Dev.

## Indian Opinion Analysis

All three sources agree on the April 2027 start and the return of Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt. Pinkvilla adds the exclusive detail of Kapoor playing a dual role and says Mukerji has initiated talks with Deepika Padukone. Telugu360 frames Padukone as already confirmed to team up, a step ahead of the other outlets. The uniform coverage is straight reporting with no discernible political slant, focusing on production timelines and casting speculation. The key date to watch is the official casting announcement, which will clarify the extent of Padukone's role and confirm the dual-role report.
