# Ranveer Singh’s father to meet IMPPA over Don 3 exit dispute 2026-08-17T09:37:33+00:00 | Entertainment | Indian Opinion Desk Corroboration: 1 independent outlet Ranveer Singh's father Jagjit Singh Bhavnani has agreed to meet the Indian Motion Picture Producers Association (IMPPA) to resolve the dispute over the actor's exit from the film Don 3. Producers Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani had filed a complaint with IMPPA last month, presenting signed documents and evidence that a promotional video had been shot. IMPPA president Abhay Sinha said the producers sought the association's intervention after the actor's late withdrawal caused complications. The standoff began in April when the producers approached the Indian Film and Television Directors' Association (IFTDA), and escalated in May when the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) issued a non-cooperation notice against Ranveer. The ban was withdrawn after eight days on IMPPA's insistence. Ranveer's lawyer had initially questioned IMPPA's jurisdiction, but the actor's stance has now shifted. IMPPA will hear both sides once a meeting date is fixed. Hindustan Times reports that the producers claim Ranveer's last-minute departure cost them losses of around Rs 45 crore in pre-production and preparations. Ranveer was announced as the new face of the Don franchise in 2023 but reportedly wanted to exit after the success of his film Dhurandhar. Sinha said the underlying reason for the exit remains unknown to IMPPA, which will decide on further action after hearing the actor's representative. ## Coverage - hindustantimes.com This story was synthesised by AI from the source linked above.
