The turtle, found by a dog near Rhosneigr on Anglesey, has spent more than two years at Anglesey Sea Zoo, tripling in size from less than 1kg to about 21kg. Staff will use KY Jelly and Vaseline to protect his skin and shell during the journey, which includes a helicopter flight to London and a cargo flight to Houston, Texas. Kemp's ridley is the world's rarest sea turtle, nesting only on beaches in Mexico and Texas.
