Before pulling the rope, she broke a coconut and poured its water beneath the flag, following a customary ritual associated with auspicious beginnings. Tandon attended the ceremony in a blue Anarkali outfit with traditional jewellery. The Free Press Journal also reports that actress Trisha Krishnan attended an Independence Day flag-hoisting event in Tamil Nadu alongside Chief Minister Vijay and his family. Krishnan wore a saffron saree for the occasion.
