Ravi Teja's film Irumudi has crossed the $1 million mark in North America within its first weekend, making it the actor's first film to achieve that milestone in the region. The family drama earned approximately Rs 70 crore globally in its opening weekend, with Sunday being the strongest day, grossing around Rs 27 crore worldwide. Ticket sales exceeded 11 lakh in Telugu states through online platforms, with many shows selling out. The film is being described as a major comeback for Ravi Teja, who had faced a string of flops in recent years. Directed by Shiva Nirvana and produced by Mythri Movie Makers, the film features Priya Bhavani Shankar, Baby Nakshatra, and Sai Kumar. While it has performed strongly in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, the Tamil version has seen a lukewarm response, collecting only Rs 4 lakh on day 3. The film is expected to face a new challenge when Yash's Toxic premieres in the US on Tuesday.

## Indian Opinion Analysis

The coverage is uniformly celebratory, with no critical framing of the film or its performance. All sources lead with box office milestones, $1 million in North America and ₹70 crore+ worldwide, and emphasize audience demand and emotional content. m9.news and tracktollywood.com add superlatives like "unprecedented", "never-seen-before", and "sensational blockbuster", while 123telugu.com, telugucinema.com, and cinemaexpress.com stay closer to figures and industry context. The only outlier is cinemaexpress.com, which notes the Tamil version's weak reception, a detail others omit. The middle-ground takeaway: Irumudi is a clear commercial comeback for Ravi Teja in Telugu markets, but its all-India verdict remains incomplete. Watch the week-two hold and whether the overseas milestone sustains against Yash’s Toxic, opening Tuesday.
