Corroboration: 3 independent outlets

Ravi Teja's latest film Irumudi, directed by Shiva Nirvana, has crossed 1 million tickets sold on BookMyShow and District, becoming the fastest Ravi Teja film to reach that milestone. The film released in theatres on an unspecified date and has drawn positive audience reactions across India and North America. Greatandhra.com reports that the film's success has surprised the industry, given Ravi Teja's recent string of flops, and that makers have increased screens and shows due to demand. The film is also being seen as a potential breakthrough for actress Priya Bhavani Shankar, who plays Kaveri, the wife of Ravi Teja's character. Tracktollywood.com notes that while she has established herself in Tamil cinema, she lacked a major Telugu hit until now. Telugucinema.com reports that Nani has praised the film, and that audiences are appreciating the emotional core, Ravi Teja's performance, and the blend of family drama with suspense. The film is viewed as a comeback for both Ravi Teja and Shiva Nirvana in the family-drama space.
