The Reserve Bank of India imposed penalties totalling over Rs 71 lakh on four financial entities for regulatory non-compliance. Northern Arc Capital Ltd was fined Rs 6.20 lakh for incorrect customer complaint disclosures and failing to auto-escalate grievances to its Internal Ombudsman. Muthoot MCred Ltd, formerly Muthoottu Mini Financiers, was penalised Rs 3.10 lakh for upgrading non-performing assets without receiving full arrears payment. Fusion Finance Ltd was fined Rs 2.70 lakh for not conducting mandatory half-yearly risk category reviews. IndusInd Bank Ltd received the largest penalty of Rs 59.20 lakh for paying interest on current account deposits and engaging in synthetic securitisation. All inspections were based on financial positions as of March 31, 2025. The RBI stated the actions are based on compliance deficiencies and not judgments on customer transactions.
