# Regina Cassandra to play villain in Nayanthara’s Mookuthi Amman 2 2026-08-20T20:52:55+00:00 | Entertainment | Indian Opinion Desk Corroboration: 2 independent outlets Actress Regina Cassandra will play the antagonist in Nayanthara's upcoming film Mookuthi Amman 2, according to 123telugu.com. The sequel to the 2020 divine fantasy hit is directed by Sundar C, replacing RJ Balaji who helmed the first installment. The director has designed a unique and powerful character with a never-seen-before look for Regina, the report says. The film is produced by Dr. Ishari K. Ganesh under the Vels Film International banner on a budget exceeding Rs. 100 crores. 123telugu.com reports that Jio Hotstar has bought the post-theatrical streaming rights for a hefty price after watching the film. Pinkvilla.com also reports the film is a fantasy comedy but does not confirm the OTT deal details, only saying the project has closed a 'huge OTT deal?' as speculation. ## Indian Opinion Analysis Both sources report the same core facts: Regina Cassandra as villain, Sundar C as director, and a large budget. 123telugu.com leads with concrete casting news and the OTT deal as confirmed, while pinkvilla.com hedges on the streaming deal with a question mark in its headline, indicating less certainty. The neutral middle ground is that casting is confirmed, the OTT deal is reported by one source but not independently verified by the other. Readers should watch for official confirmation of the streaming rights value from the production house. ## Coverage Coverage: 2 sources, 1 neutral, 1 sensationalist - 123telugu.com (neutral report) Straight reporting of casting and OTT deal without editorialising - pinkvilla.com (sensationalist) Headline frames OTT deal as speculation with a question mark This story was synthesised by AI from the 2 sources linked above.
