The new Indian Express reports that the UG and PG scholarships, launched five years ago, have so far benefitted over 22,000 students. Under the scheme, up to Rs 2 lakh for UG and up to Rs 6 lakh for PG students will be granted with no application fee, and the support includes mentorship and leadership development. The scholarships aim to fund 5,000 undergraduate and 100 postgraduate students for the current academic year. Last year, 5,100 selected scholars came from 1,350 institutions across 27 states and seven Union territories. The PG scholarships recognise 100 exceptional students annually in future-ready disciplines such as engineering, technology, energy and life sciences.
